No one likes to owe much money
to lenders there may be
having to make payments on time
wanting to be debt free
____
is a dream most people do have
not serving those again
who reap rewards because of debt
with usury as their friend

even God’s own children are bound
in debt over their heads
living above their ways and means
living a lie instead
____
sometimes it is the sin from lust
that lures one into debt
desiring things more temporal
then spiritual things to get
____
but the Lord is ready to help
in teaching one the way
obedience and faithfulness
are things that really pay
____
if one trusts God for salvation
to the wealth of one’s soul
why can’t one’s checkbook be trusted
to God to have control
____
by allowing Jesus to reign
as Lord over this mess
the basis to act on man’s hope
is faith that God will bless
